Mugs by Narui Kiln

これは成井窯のマグカップ。故・成井恒雄さんは益子の陶芸家で、これはその成井さんが運営していた工房で職人さんにより作られたものだったと思う。成井窯は、恒雄さん亡きあともご家族が続けている。このカップは、取っ手が斜め下に下がっているところに愛嬌があって目に止まり、指を通して持ち上げてみたら、人差し指の第二関節にものすごくフィットして感服。どっしりと厚みのある見た目に反してとても軽いという、心地いい裏切りにもグッと来て購入にいたったものだ。そのときの高揚した気持ちはとてもよく覚えているのに、それがどこだったかあんまり思い出せないのはなぜなんだ（たぶん、益子のスターネットさんで）。うちで唯一の夫婦茶碗で、これで飲むのはだいたいコーヒー。一応、夫が黒で私がグレーなのだけれど、時々、無性に黒の気分になり盗み使いする。黒は自分で金継ぎをしました。

They are mugs from Narui Kiln. Tsuneo Narui was a potter in Mashiko, Tochigi, Japan and this mug was made by the co-working craftsmen of his kiln. The handle is slanted down, which attracted me and when I lifted it up with my finger, I was impressed with how well it fit the second joint of my index finger. Contrary to its thick appearance, it is very light. Their are the only pair cup in our house. We usually drink coffee with them. My husband uses the black and I use the gray then sometimes I feel like using the black one and steal it. The black one has kintsugi (repair with gold) by myself.
