Hykko-no-design (Design of a hundred craftsmen: Around Japan craft)

On the occasion of the exhibition Life in Art “JAPAN CRAFT ‘Hyakko no Design Exhibition’” (ATELIER MUJI GINZA, 2023), this book interviews seven of the more than 100 participating artists: Ryohei Yamamoto and Yuki Hirakura, Ai and Hiroyuki Tokaji (wood lacquer craft and keshi), Shinichi Moriguchi, Yumi Nakamura, Yukiharu Kumagai, Akio Nukaga, Shigeyoshi Morioka. It conveys the depths of craftsmanship through the voices and lifestyles of the artists and why they make things by hand today. The photos are uniquely beautiful.

『百工のデザイン JAPAN CRAFTを巡って』2023 良品計画

展覧会Life in Art「JAPAN CRAFT『百工のデザイン展』(ATELIER MUJI GINZA、2023）の開催にあたり、100人以上の参加作家の中から山本亮平・平倉ゆき、渡慶次愛・弘幸（木漆工とけし）、森口信一、中村友美、熊谷幸治、額賀章夫、森岡成好・由利子の7組を取材した本。この時代になぜ手で作るのか、ものづくりの深層部を作家の声と暮らしぶりを通して伝える良書。
